The Focal Point of the region Schladming-Dachstein!

The historic mountain town of Schladming is today a metropolis of winter sports with a world-wide reputation. With its famous Planai stadium, Schladming is the only venue in the Alps to boast a World Cup slope that ends right in the heart of town. Schladming is the westernmost town in Styria and represents the focal point of the  Region Schladming-Dachstein.  A place where everyone, not only stars such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, feels right at home. Schladming has made a resonant name for itself in the international skiing community, hosting almost 30 World Cup races, US Pro Tour races, the Alpine Ski World Championships in 1982 and the 1993 Special Olympics.  It also is a candidate venue for the 2013 Alpine Ski World Championships.
