The  Region Schladming-Dachstein is regarded as a pioneering region for snowboarders in the Eastern Alps.  Many of the sport's big names, such as Flo Mausser, Bernd Egger, Bernd Mandlberger and Lisa Filzmoser, come from the area.  The Planai is one of the most famous snowboard mountains in all the Alps, gaining fame for hosting the European Snowboard Championships in 1989 and through other major events.

In winter, the professionally shaped and maintained snowparks of the Hochwurzen.  In early summer and autumn, freestyle newbies and top-flight international pros push their limits on the Dachstein! When your muscles are aching after all those really good sessions, or you simply haven't got the urge today, then just grab a sun lounger in the Chill Arena - with a good sound system and close to all the action, you're guaranteed never to miss a single trick your buddies conjure up in the snow!
