»Ski tours are in vogue«, pristine winter landscapes are the preferred destination for many skiers.  Far away from the hustle and bustle, you find a particularly intensive place to enjoy the countryside and natural setting.  Our region is no exception! The Ramsau, with its three distinct terrain tiers, is a true touring El Dorado, with numerous routes simply waiting to be explored by you.
The Dachstein-Tauern Region is a traditional ski-touring area.  The Dachstein Glacier alone greets you with a total of 8 tours.  And every Friday, we host a night ski-touring expedition up at the Riesneralm. From February until well into April, the ski schools of the Dachstein-Tauern Region offer guided tours, including return transportation to your starting point at the winter sports centres.

• Dachstein Traverse
  Sun, snow and exercise amid high-Alpine terrain: From the summit terminus of the Dachstein cable lift at 2700 metres, the tour leads across the broad Dachstein plateau to Obertraun.
  A 25 km-long route, generally downhill through an untouched natural setting. The Dachstein traverse takes between 4 and 5 hours incl. a refreshment stop.
• Edelgriess Tour
  Once again, it is now possible to ski the Edelweiss run, all the way down to the Ramsau plateau below.  This run actually enjoyed quite a cult following in the 80's. In order to reach the run, a shaft had to be cut through the Dachstein Massif itself, thus allowing skiers to get to the southern side of the Dachstein.  Once there, an extraordinary outdoor adventure awaits!
  A total mastery of your skis is an absolute must in this case!  Difficulty varies considerably based on snow conditions.  Be sure to obtain a trail report prior to setting out!
